How I work

How I Build

Most of my projects start with a problem I actually encounter. I try to understand why the existing workflow behaves the way it does, build the smallest useful solution, test it in the environment where I need it, and expand it only when continued use justifies the extra complexity.

Streaming

Streams can include VRChat, gaming, Fortnite, community nights, and whatever happens to turn into a good story along the way. Many community-focused VRChat streams and hangouts use instances hosted under the Mello Zone Furry Community VRChat Group.

Some of the best moments are not formal productions. They are spontaneous conversations, games, avatar chaos, and people spending time together.

VRChat

VRChat is one of my main creative spaces. It is where content, social interaction, community events, avatar work, virtual photography, world ideas, and spontaneous conversations all collide.

My focus is less on treating VRChat as a single game and more on using it as a platform for stories, social experiences, community building, and creator experiments.

Past avatar portfolio

Reference matching, texture work, Unity setup, Substance passes, clothing, and ongoing character experiments.

Tools built around real problems

Development

I build tools around problems I actually run into: websites that need clearer technical visibility, Unity projects that need better editor tooling, and streaming setups where several platforms have to cooperate.

Some projects stay small utilities. Others turn into maintained toolkits with installers, documentation, CI, local APIs, and cross-platform support.

Web platform

Mello Zone

mellozone.site is the codebase behind the Mello Zone Furry Community and one of the places where I actively apply my work in web development, content architecture, discoverability, accessibility, performance, and community infrastructure.

It also acts as a proving ground for many of the search and publishing experiments I work on elsewhere.

Community infrastructure

Community projects

Mello Zone is the largest umbrella for my community work. The goal is bigger than maintaining another Discord server. I am working toward a connected furry community that can exist across the web, Discord, Telegram, VRChat, events, and creator spaces without every part feeling isolated.

The development focus is the infrastructure around that community: clearer onboarding, consistent moderation, useful public resources, VRChat meetups, creator discovery, and better pathways for members to find what actually interests them.

Music & Experiments

Not every project needs to become a product. Some are songs, edits, remixes, instrumentals, visual experiments, or ideas I made simply because they sounded interesting.

This is the part of my work where I can try something, break something, learn from it, and occasionally end up with something worth keeping.
