Life Update: Starting Over, Bringing Mello Home, and My Streaming Break
It’s been a while since I’ve regularly streamed, and I wanted to share a more personal update with everyone who has checked in, wondered where I’ve been, or continued supporting me while I’ve been quieter online.
There has been a lot happening behind the scenes. My absence hasn’t been because I’ve stopped caring about creating content or connecting with the community. Instead, I’ve been navigating some significant life changes, making difficult decisions about my living situation, and working toward building a healthier future for myself and the people I love.
I haven’t talked much about everything that’s happened, but I think it’s time to explain why I stepped away, what brought me to where I am today, and why streaming is still on pause.
Leaving an Unhealthy Living Environment
One of the biggest reasons behind my move was that I needed to get out of an unhealthy living environment.
Living with my mother had become increasingly difficult, and I reached a point where I knew I needed a change. It wasn’t just about disagreements or the challenges that can come with living with family. There were also concerns about the condition of the house, including mold and safety issues that made the living environment unsuitable for me.
I needed somewhere I could feel safer, have room to breathe, and begin working toward a more stable future.
Making that decision wasn’t necessarily easy. Moving means leaving behind what you’re familiar with, adjusting to new circumstances, and accepting that the next chapter might come with its own challenges. But sometimes, staying in a situation simply because it’s familiar isn’t what’s best for you.
I knew I needed to prioritize finding a healthier environment, even if doing so meant making sacrifices along the way.
A New Start in the Greater Dayton Area
An opportunity came along through two people who are important to me and my friend group, Osiris and Enzo. They offered me a place to stay, giving me a chance to make the change I needed.
Despite our differences and the fact that we don’t always see eye to eye, we’re living together and figuring things out. Sharing a living space with other people isn’t always perfect, and I don’t want to pretend that every difference disappears just because people share a home. What matters is having an opportunity to move forward and make the best of the situation.
That opportunity brought me to the greater Dayton area in Ohio.
Moving here represented more than changing my address. It was a decision to step away from an environment that wasn’t working for me and try to build something healthier. It meant accepting uncertainty and adjusting to a new place, a new routine, and a different set of circumstances.
I’m still working through what that change means for my future, but I’m grateful that I had an opportunity to take that step.
Of course, not every part of starting over has been easy. One of the biggest unexpected consequences of the move has affected something many of you know me for: streaming.
Why I Had to Step Away From Streaming
When I made the move, I also lost access to the reliable internet connection I needed to stream consistently.
For anyone who doesn’t stream, this might seem like a relatively small problem. Unfortunately, a capable computer and the desire to go live aren’t enough on their own. Streaming requires a stable connection, particularly a reliable upload speed, to maintain video quality and avoid interruptions.
Without that, trying to broadcast can quickly become frustrating for both the creator and the people watching.
I don’t enjoy being away from streaming. Creating content has been an important part of my life, and I miss being able to go live, spend time with viewers, share experiences, and connect with the community in real time.
But the reality is that my current internet situation doesn’t give me the reliability I need to stream the way I want to.
This wasn’t the outcome I wanted when I moved. I knew there would be adjustments, but losing reliable internet has meant putting something I care about on hold while I work through the practical limitations of my new living situation.
As much as I wish I could simply return to my usual schedule, I have to be realistic about what is possible right now.
For the time being, streaming will remain on pause until better internet becomes available to me. I don’t have a confirmed return date, and I would rather be honest about that than promise something I cannot reliably deliver.
Four Weeks Later, I Made Another Big Decision
About four weeks after moving, another important part of my life changed.
My partner, Marshmello, also known as Mello The Proto Puppy, was dealing with a difficult situation of his own in Citrus County, Florida. Knowing what he was going through, I wanted to help him get out of that situation and bring him somewhere he could be with me.
So, I bought him a plane ticket to come to me.
It was a significant decision, and it meant taking another step toward building our life together. After everything that had changed with my move, helping Mello make that journey became another important part of this new chapter.
Our circumstances weren’t identical, and I don’t want to speak for him or share details of his experience that aren’t mine to tell. What I can share is that I wanted to help someone I love reach a better situation, and I took action to make that possible.
Now, we’re together.
For me, that matters more than being able to say that everything is perfectly figured out. Life isn’t suddenly free of challenges, and we still have things to work through. But having my baby, Mello, here with me means we’re able to face those challenges together instead of being separated by distance.
Sometimes, making progress doesn’t look like achieving a big public milestone. Sometimes, it looks like making a difficult decision, helping someone you love, and taking steps toward a safer and more stable life.
This is one of those times for me.
What Life Looks Like Right Now
At the moment, I’m adjusting to my new living situation, spending time with Mello, and figuring out how to move forward from here.
There are still practical things to work through, and reliable internet remains one of the biggest obstacles standing between me and returning to regular streaming.
I haven’t abandoned my creative projects, and I haven’t stopped caring about the community I’ve spent so much time building connections within. My life has simply required my attention in other areas.
I’m learning to accept that I can’t always maintain the same pace, especially when circumstances outside my control affect what I can realistically do.
I would love to be streaming again, making content, and spending time with everyone like I used to. Until the internet situation improves, though, I have to work with what I have rather than pretend the problem doesn’t exist.
In the meantime, I’ll continue focusing on the things I can manage, taking care of my personal life, and working toward a future where returning to content creation is more practical.
Will I Be Returning to Streaming?
Yes, I hope to return as soon as circumstances allow. I just can’t give you a date yet.
My current break isn’t an announcement that I’m permanently retiring from streaming. It’s a pause caused by a combination of major life changes and, most importantly for streaming itself, the lack of a reliable internet connection.
When better internet becomes available, I’ll be in a better position to evaluate what returning to streaming looks like and how I can make it sustainable.
Until then, I don’t want anyone to mistake my absence for a lack of interest or care. I still value the connections I’ve made, the experiences we’ve shared, and the people who have supported me along the way.
Things might look different when I return, and I may need time to find my rhythm again. But I want that return to happen under circumstances where I can actually show up consistently, rather than repeatedly fighting technical problems.
I’ll share updates when there’s something meaningful to share. For now, I appreciate everyone who understands that sometimes life has to come first.
A Thank You to Everyone Who Has Stuck Around
If you’ve checked in on me, wondered how I’ve been doing, or continued supporting me while I’ve been away, thank you.
I know that disappearing from a regular streaming schedule can leave people wondering what’s happened. I didn’t want to leave everyone guessing indefinitely, and I wanted to give you a clearer explanation of why things have changed.
This has been a period of major decisions, difficult circumstances, and new beginnings. Leaving an unhealthy living environment, moving to the greater Dayton area, adjusting to a different living situation, and bringing Mello to be with me have all been important parts of that journey.
I may not be able to give you a streaming schedule right now, but I can be honest about where I stand.
At the end of the day, I’m safe, Mello is here with me, and we’re together working toward what’s next. Things aren’t perfect, and I still have challenges ahead, but I’m grateful that we’ve reached this point.
I miss streaming, and I hope to return soon. Until better internet becomes available, though, this is simply how things have to be.
Thank you for giving me the time and space to work through everything. Thank you for caring, even when I’ve been quiet.
I’m still here. I’m still Sammy. I’m still a creator, even when I’m not live.
And for now, I’m taking things one step at a time, with my baby by my side and hope for what comes next.
